We are delighted to announce a series of classes which will help educate the community's teens and adults understand and manage the basic and advanced aspects of personal finance.
Despite the fact that we all deal with some aspect of finances every day of our lives, there is no curriculum in the schools on this very important subject. Unless parents teach their children how to manage money and avoid debilitating financial mistakes, children and adults are left to “figure it out on their own.”
In promoting one aspect of the overall wellness of the community, we began offering parents an outsourced means of helping to educate their children on this important topic via a fun, interactive and informative introductory course. Why? As young adults, we were left to "figure it out on our own" and don't wish that for our children! We have three early teens and were painfully aware of their lack of knowledge in this area. After repeatedly stating for the last 20-30 years "The schools should make this stuff mandatory!", we are finally in a position to give back and help make good on this unmet need.
With many requests from parents of "I wish I could take the classes too!", and parents beginning to sit in on the teen classes, we decided to expand the program to include adult classes as well. We hope that you find the curriculum enriching and we always remain open to feedback and ideas for improvement.
